The Word that has shaped me

Luke 4:18-119, 21
Jesus said, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
    because God has anointed me
    to proclaim good news to the poor.
God has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives
    and recovering of sight to the blind,
    to set at liberty those who are oppressed,
    to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor.”
And he began to say to them, “Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.”

Lamentations 3:22-26
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
    God's mercies never come to an end;
    they are new every morning;
    God's faithfulness is great.
You, O Lord, are all that I have,
    and therefore I will hope in you.

You, O Lord, are good to those who wait for you,
    to those who seek you.
It is good that one should with patience
    for the salvation of the Lord.

Psalm 19:1-4
The heavens declare the glory of God,
  and the sky above proclaims God's handiwork.
Day to day pours out speech,
    and night to night reveals knowledge.
There is no speech, nor are there words,
    whose voice is not heard.
Their voice goes out through all the earth,
    and their words to the end of the world.
Luke 12:11-12
Do not worry about how you are to defend yourselves or what you are to say; for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that very hour what you ought to say."

Mark 16:7
[Jesus] is going ahead of you to Galilee;
there you will see him, just as he told you."

2 Corinthians  6:1-2
As we work together with God,
we urge you also not to accept the grace of God in vain.
For God says,
"At an acceptable time I have listened to you,
   and on a day of salvation I have helped you."
See, now is the acceptable time; see, now is the day of salvation!

Habbakuk 1:5
Be astonished! Be astounded!
For a work is being done in your days
    that you would not believe if you were told.

1 Timothy 4
Teach believers with your life: by word, by demeanor, by love, by faith, by integrity. Stay at your post reading Scripture, giving counsel, teaching. And that special gift of ministry you were given when the leaders of the church laid hands on you and prayed—keep that dusted off and in use. Cultivate these things. Immerse yourself in them. The people will all see you mature right before their eyes! Keep a firm grasp on both your character and your teaching. Don’t be diverted. Just keep at it. Both you and those who hear you will experience salvation.

Jeremiah 29:11-13
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.

1 Peter 2:9-10
You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. Once you were not a people, but now you are God's people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

Psalm 139:7-12
Where shall I go from your Spirit?
    Or where shall I flee from your presence?
If I ascend to heaven, you are there!
    If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there!
If I take the wings of the morning
    and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
even there your hand shall lead me,
    and your right hand shall hold me.
If I say, “Surely the darkness shall cover me,
    and the light about me be night,”
even the darkness is not dark to you;
    the night is bright as the day,
    for darkness is as light with you.

John 11:16
So Thomas, called the Twin, said to his fellow disciples,
“Let us also go, that we may die with him.”
